June was extremely warm in the Podgorica and Nikšić areas, and very warm in other cities in Montenegro.
This was announced by the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology.
The average air temperature ranged from 15,6 degrees in Žabljak to 28,2 degrees in Podgorica.
"On the scale of the highest values, June 2025 was the warmest in Kolašin with an average air temperature of 18,7 degrees (the previous record was recorded in 2022 at 18,4 degrees) and in Nikšić where it was 22,6 degrees (the previous record of 22,3 degrees was measured in 2022), in second place in Berane, it was warmer in June 2024, Podgorica (June 2003 was warmer), and in other cities it is in the ten warmest years," it was announced.
The number of tropical days, when the maximum daily air temperature reaches or exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, was above average values, in Bar, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Cetinje, Nikšić and Ulcinj.
These cities recorded the highest number of tropical days in June since measurements were taken at these meteorological stations - in Bar 20 days (as in 2003, 2019, 2022), in Berane 19 days (the maximum was 14 days in 2012, 2022 and 2024), Bijelo Polje 25 days (the maximum was 19 days in 2022), Cetinje 15 days (as in 2003), Nikšić 17 days (the maximum was 12 days in 2024) and in Ulcinj 23 days (the maximum was 22 days in 2022).
Tropical days have not been recorded in Žabljak.
