The first cleanup action, as part of the national environmental protection campaign "Take care, let it take care of you", will be organized tomorrow at Ćemovsko polje in Podgorica, near the Cattle Market.

The European House announced that the cleanup operation will begin at seven o'clock.

"The action will be attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Montenegro, the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, the competent services of the Capital City, the NGO network Let's Green Montenegro and the company Voli," the statement said.

The European House said that thanks to a donation from the company Voli, the sponsor of the event, the space will be permanently decorated with park furniture.

"In order to prevent further illegal waste disposal at that location, surveillance cameras and warning signs will be installed, and the area will be monitored and visited by the competent municipal and inspection services," the statement said.

The action, as stated by the European House, is open to the participation of all interested citizens, activists and representatives of the civil sector.

They invited everyone who wants to contribute to a cleaner and healthier living environment to join them at Ćemovsko polje and become part of the change.

The national environmental protection campaign "Protect and let it protect you" was launched on June 5, World Environment Day, with the support of the EU.

The campaign is being implemented by a broad coalition of key state institutions, led by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development, as well as local governments, partners from the academic community and civil sector, socially responsible companies, and the media.

The European House stated that the goal of the campaign is to improve environmental protection through a series of concrete measures and ecological actions, but also to encourage citizens to make a personal contribution to a healthier and cleaner living environment.

They said that in the first phase of the campaign, an online platform for reporting environmental crime was launched. www.cuvaj.me and a series of actions planned to clean up illegal landfills.

"In the next phases, a campaign is planned to further reduce the use of plastic bags, permanently solve the long-standing problem of disposing of old car tires, and conduct educational campaigns to involve young people and school-age children in environmental protection," the statement said.
