The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has launched a scholarship program for the best Montenegrin students at prestigious universities abroad, the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
"In a changing Montenegro, knowledge is the most important resource we have, it is the foundation of personal, social and national future. In a time when it is easier to leave, the decision to return and stay in your country, to build a future here, becomes an act of responsibility and love for your country," the statement emphasizes.
It is added that the Office of the President of Montenegro is announcing a Public Call for the award of ten scholarships to students who are continuing their education at prestigious universities abroad.
"This initiative sends a strong message of support for knowledge, excellence and dedication, with the aim of supporting students who, with their dedication, results and ambitions, represent the future of Montenegro. Scholarships totaling 50.000 euros (5.000 euros per student) are provided with financial support from the company 'Mtel'," the statement reads.
Students who: are eligible to apply:
• have a "Luča" diploma,
• study at universities ranked highly on the Shanghai Ranking,
• have notable academic achievements and awards from international competitions
The deadline for submitting applications is 10 days from the date of the Public Call.
"We invite all qualified students to apply and express our sincere gratitude to Mtel for recognizing the importance of investing in the education and development of young talents. The President of Montenegro continuously works to affirm knowledge and create opportunities for young people, recognizing them as a key potential for the development of our society. Learning means choosing a difficult but correct path, and returning and staying means believing that Montenegro can be a home worthy of our dreams," the statement reads.
The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro also submitted Milatović's statement on the launch of the scholarship program.
"Dear students,
Your knowledge is the most important resource we have. That is why I am proud to announce a public call for the award of 10 student scholarships for education at the most prestigious universities in the world. This scholarship program, with the selfless support of MTEL, sends a clear message.
Montenegro believes in you. It believes in your courage, your dedication and your willingness to bring the knowledge you have acquired abroad back to your country. Because here, here is your opportunity and here your knowledge is most needed.
"So be an example to the generations to come. It is up to you, guided by knowledge, to bravely walk the paths of success for your future and the future of your country," Milatović said.
