Works have begun on the comprehensive adaptation of the building housing the Faculty of Philosophy and Philology in Nikšić, which represents a continuation of the broader process of improving the infrastructure of the University of Montenegro, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) announced today.
"The building housing these two faculty units will be adapted through an investment worth more than 2,2 million euros, provided by the Ministry of Public Works. The adaptation will solve long-standing problems with heating, cooling and insulation, thus ensuring stable conditions for uninterrupted teaching throughout the year. The installation of a modern VRF system will ensure efficient temperature control in all rooms, while the new thermally insulated facade and aluminum joinery with triple-layer glass will bring significant energy savings and improve everyday comfort," the Ministry of Public Works said in a statement.
The government department headed by Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović added that the visual and functional improvement of classrooms, amphitheaters and offices is of particular importance, as they will now fully comply with modern educational standards.
"In addition to improving the environment, the project extends the lifespan of the facility, reduces maintenance costs and raises the overall quality of stay and work of students and employees. By implementing this significant project, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Education continue to improve the conditions for work and education at higher education institutions in Montenegro. The Faculty of Philosophy and Philology will receive modern spatial and technical conditions, fully aligned with European standards, thus creating a better environment for the work of teaching staff and student learning," said the Ministry of Education and Research.
