Bečić: Andrijevica remains one of the most authentic parts of Montenegro
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić celebrated the Day of the Municipality of Andrijevica on July 17th.
"Today we mark a date that reminds us of July 1944, when this area, which occupies a significant place in the book of Montenegrin history, in extremely difficult circumstances, guided by faith in freedom, showed character and courage and stood up against the occupation. At the intersection of the most imposing mountain massifs of our country, Komovi, Bjelasica and Prokletije, Andrijevica remains one of the most authentic parts of Montenegro. The strength of this place lies in its natural potential, but also in the people who preserve their roots with dignity and contribute to development, in the spirit of responsibility, perseverance and belonging," said Bečić.
It was emphasized that the construction of the second section of the Mateševo–Andrijevica highway represents a key step towards better traffic connectivity and dynamic development.
"This infrastructure project opens up new opportunities for economic progress, sustainable tourism and a better quality of life for citizens," said Bečić.

On the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Andrijevica, Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić sent a congratulatory message to the leadership of the Municipality, the Municipal Assembly, as well as all citizens of Andrijevica, it was announced by the government department headed by Šćekić.
"This date is a symbol of freedom-loving traditions, anti-fascist struggle and national determination to defend the values of justice and freedom. On this occasion, I extend my sincere congratulations and wishes for even stronger progress and unity. Andrijevica has the potential to be an example of sustainable development and an environment that encourages the stay and success of young people," Šćekić emphasized in his congratulatory message.
He added that the Ministry of Sports and Youth remains committed to improving sports infrastructure and supporting programs that strengthen the role of youth in society.

"Noting that this small and beautiful town, which extends north of Komovi, is unofficially considered the center of the Vasojević region, Zogović recalls that Andrijevica, a place of wonderful, hospitable people, was named after the Andrijevna church from the time of the famous warrior tribe of Vasojević.
