As part of the 2025 Program, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje launched the measure "Development of Rural Infrastructure", with the aim of improving the lives of citizens in rural areas.
Today, contracts were signed with the local community (MZ) Lješnica and the local community (MZ) Loznice–Obrov for the renovation of the chapel and the retaining wall in Trnovače and the extension of public lighting in Obrov.
According to the Municipality, new requests are also coming from the Brzava Local Community for the continuation of public lighting, and the Kovren Local Community for the development of the area next to the church in Bliškovo.
Last year, the carpentry was renovated at the Mladost Elementary School in Kanje — a school with 99 students in the village. 2025 euros have been allocated for 35.000. Priority until September 15th will be given to local communities that did not use the funds last year.
"Despite limited funds, we managed to implement a number of significant projects - from the renovation of local buildings, cemeteries, public lighting, concreting of driveways, to the production of carpentry, roofing, embankments and protection of land from erosion," said Armin Sijarić, Secretary of the Secretariat for Rural and Sustainable Development.
Mile Varagić (MZ Lješnica) and Fikret Drpljanin (MZ Loznice–Obrov) expressed their gratitude, saying that they see the Secretariat as a reliable partner.
The Municipality announced that they continue to support the development of villages — for a better life and for young people to stay in the countryside.
