Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) MPs Aleksandra Vuković Kuč, Zoja Bojanić Lalović and Aleksandra Despotović, Social Democrat MP Branislav Nenezić and independent MP Radinka Ćinćur submitted a request to the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports to hold a control hearing of the Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović.
They are requesting that a control hearing be held on the topic: "The actions of the Ministry of Culture and Media in relation to the violation of the Publishing Act and the State Awards Act in the process of jury members' decision-making on the award of the 2025 Thirteenth of July Award."
"Regarding information indicating a flagrant violation of the law within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Media, as well as the fact that there have been numerous doubts regarding the procedure and the awarding of the highest state award, the Thirteenth of July, we believe that it is necessary to determine all the circumstances in which this process took place, so that the public can be properly informed and in order to avoid numerous speculations and well-founded doubts about the legality of this very important work for the state and its reputation, but also the national interest. It is necessary to determine whether there were any shortcomings in the work of the relevant ministry and, if so, what their nature is," the explanation of the request, which was submitted to the media by the DPS, reads.
