The Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, the Minister of Public Works, Majda Adžović, and the President of the Governing Board of the University of Montenegro, Milivoje Radović, visited the Faculty of Economics on the occasion of the start of works on the adaptation of the Faculty building, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) announced.
As announced, the joint venture of the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and the University of Montenegro (UCG) aims to improve the infrastructure and quality of education at all university units.
The statement added that the ministers emphasized the importance of investing in education as a key factor for the country's economic development and future.
"Education is the foundation on which we build our future. With projects like this, we provide our students with the opportunity to learn in modern and inspiring conditions," emphasized Ministers Jakšić-Stojanović and Adžović.
Radović expressed his satisfaction with this joint project of the three institutions.
"This adaptation will enable better and more efficient teaching, as well as more modern conditions for research and work," Radović pointed out.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said that over 1.800.000 euros were invested in the renovation of the Faculty of Economics building, which includes the renovation of the hall and rooms on the ground floor.
"The project will cover a total gross area of 1.417,8 m², and includes the complete adaptation and modernization of the interior of this space. The works include changing the finishing of floors and walls, replacing the ceiling, installing new interior and exterior hardware to improve energy efficiency, installing a modern lighting, air conditioning and ventilation system, and installing new railings with handrails," the statement said.
They add that special attention will be paid to adapting the space for people with disabilities, including repairing the ramp for easier access.
"The project also envisages changing the spatial organization of the library, reception desk and computer room, as well as establishing a new bookstore, with the aim of improving the functionality and aesthetic expression of the space. The complete planned adaptation will be implemented within a year, after which students and employees of the Faculty of Economics will receive significantly improved space, adapted to modern needs," the MoE press release concludes.
