Last year, the Tivat municipal utility collected and transported a total of 10.432 tons of mixed municipal waste from that city.

In accordance with the current State Waste Management Plan, the company transports significant quantities of collected mixed municipal waste to the sanitary landfill "Možura" in Bar, which is defined by that plan as the location where waste collected on the territory of the municipality is deposited.

Also, in accordance with the contract signed in 2013 with the then PUC “Kotor”, part of the collected municipal waste from Tivat is transported to the recycling center Komunalno Kotor in Kavče, where it is further processed. During the past year, a total of 3.885 tons of green waste from gardens and parks were collected and, to a large extent, delivered for further processing at the composting plant of the Kotor Municipal Enterprise in Kavče.

1.776 tons of bulky and 33,3 tons of non-hazardous construction waste were also collected, which, in accordance with the contract concluded in 2019 between the Municipality and Komunalno Tivat, i.e. the company “Matej” from Cetinje, is regularly transported and disposed of at the company’s landfill near Cetinje. As for the process of selective collection of waste suitable for recycling, 199,91 tons of paper and cardboard, 2,9 tons of mixed metals, 2,2 tons of plastic, 3,6 tons of PET packaging, 1,6 tons of old car tires, and 480 kilograms of aluminum cans were collected in Tivat last year. As a special type classified as hazardous waste, a total of 760 kilograms of electronic waste (worn-out and faulty electronic devices) were also collected.

All together, the people of Tivat produced and disposed of or sent for recycling a total of 16.378 tons of various types of waste through their municipal company last year. The Tivat Municipal Company has been performing primary waste selection for many years, primarily cardboard and PET packaging, which makes it one of the first municipal companies in Montenegro whose collected waste undergoes primary selection.

During 2024, the company handed over selectively collected waste to companies authorized to collect or purchase certain types of waste, namely "Sveti Nikola" KD Nikšić and Komunalno Kotor.

Last year, Tivat's municipal workers continued to expand the network of places and facilities for the disposal of recyclable waste. In addition to the existing ones, five new metal mesh boxes were built and installed, with an individual capacity of one to three cubic meters for the disposal of cardboard, as well as two new metal mesh boxes for PET packaging, with an individual capacity of one cubic meter.

Last year, the utility company provided mixed municipal waste collection services to a total of 10.848 users from the category of natural persons, or 650 permanent users from the category of legal entities, and another 76 legal entities to whom these services are provided seasonally.
