The Secretariat for Spatial Planning, Communal Affairs and Traffic of the Municipality of Kolašin, in cooperation with the Secretariat for Environmental Protection and the Directorate for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs, will organize a public forum entitled "Construction of a shelter for abandoned pets in Kolašin".
The forum will be held on Friday, July 25, as announced by the Municipality, to open a dialogue on the current problems of abandoned animals in the municipality, especially dogs.
"This initiative represents a continuation of the implementation of the Dog Population Control Program in Kolašin (2020-2025), which was adopted by the Municipal Assembly back in 2020," the local administration said.
As the Municipality Manager recently told "Vijesti": Radovan PuleticThe municipality is currently doing everything it can to solve the problem of stray dogs, and intensive procedures are underway, which will lead to the implementation of the project of a temporary shelter for abandoned animals.
According to the conceptual design, which was approved, the Kolašin shelter should be a complex of 5.000 square meters, while the maximum gross construction area of the facilities will not exceed the legal limit of 300 square meters. The facility designed in this way will be able to accommodate 100 dogs.
