We have set in motion the wheel of changes, which under no circumstances can and must not be cosmetic and superficial, but essential and comprehensive, announced the Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj.
The Ministry of Public Administration (MPA) announced today that Dukaj and his associates paid an official visit to the Municipality of Ulcinj, where, according to the statement, he discussed with the local leadership the activities and plans so far in the field of public administration reform, digitalization of services and general strengthening of local self-government capacities.
"The aim of the visit was to improve cooperation between the Ministry and local self-government, as well as to consider current challenges in the functioning of public administration at the local level. During the meeting, the digitalization of services, strengthening administrative capacities, and projects aimed at improving the efficiency and transparency of local government work were discussed," the statement said.
The MPA added that Dukaj emphasized the importance of balanced development of all municipalities in Montenegro and emphasized that the MPA will provide full support to Ulcinj in the process of modernizing the administration and providing better quality services to citizens.
The statement also states that during the meeting, models for improving the efficiency of local communities were discussed, as well as possibilities for more active involvement of citizens in the decision-making process at the local level.
It is stated that transparency and cooperation between local and central government institutions with civil society have been identified as priority topics.

The path to the goal is specific to each municipality, depending on its capacity and vision for development. We continue systematically and responsibly, with all relevant partners, to build a public administration that can support both citizens and the economy," said Dukaj on this occasion.
The MPA said that the Mayor of Ulcinj, Genci Nimanbegu, thanked Dukaj for the visit and expressed the local administration's readiness to actively cooperate with the Ministry in the realization of common goals in the interest of the citizens of Ulcinj.
