The informal citizens' association "Right to Ancestry and Private Property" said that there has been no concrete progress so far because the competent institutions have not made any concrete decisions that would enable the resolution of their problems.

The informal citizens' association "Right to Ancestry and Private Property" today again organized a one-hour blockade of the Kolašin-Mojkovac main road to express their dissatisfaction with, as they say, the failure to meet their demands and the restriction of property ownership rights. The members of the association own property in several municipalities and within the Biogradska Gora National Park.

"We are here today to express our protest against the restrictions on our right to ancestral property and private property. We will remain until our demands are adopted or until our right to assemble is prohibited. If that happens, we will continue with other forms of civic activism to protect our constitutional rights," the association said.

According to them, there has been no concrete progress so far because the competent institutions have not made any concrete decisions that would enable the resolution of their problems.

"On July 25, 2025, the association's representative held a working meeting with representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency, where they discussed the activities so far and the next steps. After the meeting, the Agency advised that the property owner's requests be included in the Plan of Temporary Facilities for the Biogradska Gora National Park for the period 2025–2029, which the association has already done," it was announced from today's road blockade.

The association expects that the competent Ministry will show understanding and respond positively to the requests of the owners of real estate located within the National Park area in the municipalities of Kolašin, Mojkovac and Berane. A final decision on these requests is expected in the coming period.

They announce that they will continue to fight for their rights, using all available forms of civic activism.
