The work of the Shelter for Abandoned Animals in Kufin, in the field of protecting and adopting abandoned dogs, over the past six months has shown that together with humane and responsible fellow citizens, we can do a lot.
This was announced by the Municipality of Bar, adding that as many as 120 abandoned individuals, out of a total of 160 that were admitted to the shelter during that period, were adopted and given a new family and home.
"These results speak in favor of the dedicated work of the employees at the Shelter and their commitment to ensuring that all arriving animals are provided with quality medical treatment, which includes veterinary examinations, vaccinations, sterilization and microchipping, adequate accommodation and socialization," the Bar local government stated.
The shelter in Kufin, the statement says, is one of the most modern facilities of this type in Montenegro and the region. It contains a modernly equipped veterinary clinic with an operating room, separate boxes, isolation and recovery rooms, a kitchen and an area for walking animals, along with a modern system for recording and controlling animal health.
"Currently, there are 14 dogs at the Shelter, who are being cared for daily by professional staff and who are waiting for the opportunity to go to a new home. In order for as many dogs as possible to find a new owner, interested citizens can visit the Shelter on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 13 p.m., and we invite you to do so as soon as possible, because the chances of finding a new best friend among these animals are enormous," they said.
The Municipality of Bar also appealed for responsible behavior from fellow citizens - regular vaccination, chipping and sterilization of pets, as well as acting in accordance with the Decision on Pets in the Territory of the Municipality of Bar.
