Members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority (UPSUL) rescued two kayakers who were in danger on an inaccessible beach near Buljarica on Friday, UPSUL announced.

It is stated that the UPSUL Maritime Operations Center received a call for help at 17.10:XNUMX p.m., after two Montenegrin citizens were unable to safely return to the beach due to strong westerly winds.

UPSUL said that a SAR-5 rescue boat with three crew members was urgently dispatched to the scene.

"Thanks to the quick response, the kayakers were successfully evacuated and transferred to a safe part of the coast in Buljarica," the statement said.

As UPSUL pointed out, this is not the first time that such rescues have been carried out at the same location, which, due to the demanding and rocky terrain, often poses a risk to recreational sea users.

"UPSUL appeals to citizens, especially kayak and SUP board users, to stay no further than 150 meters from the coast, as prescribed by law, and to closely monitor weather conditions before each trip to the sea," the statement said.

UPSUL reminded that calls for help can be made to the number 129, which is available 24 hours a day.
