The celebration of the Plužine Municipality Day was officially opened today with the laying of wreaths in front of the monument to Obrad Delić. Tribute was paid to the local hero and symbol of the survival of the Plužine community, from whom this date carries the symbolism of resistance, identity and unity, reports Mediabiro.
Pirje Ceremonial sessions, the Mayor of the Municipality Slobodan Delić and the Executive Director of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro, Ivan Bulatović, laid the cornerstone for the beginning of the second phase of construction of a roundabout through the settlement - an infrastructure project of such scope and importance that Plužine has never had before.
"I thank the Director of EPCG, Ivan Bulatović, for the same vision for the development of our municipality. We agreed that the construction site in Plužine will not only be a crossroads, but a strategic development center that will enable a faster and safer life for our citizens, but also contribute to the development of the tourist offer," said the Mayor of Plužine Municipality.
This project, which EPCG invests in as part of fulfilling obligations arising from the flooding of settlements due to the construction of the Piva HPP, is worth over 8 million euros. Elektropirveda, as a socially responsible company, respects the communities with which it does business, and as responsible management, we have assumed our obligations.
"The deadline for the construction of Phase II of the roundabout is 36 months (three years). In the previous period, EPCG purchased a mobile crushing plant in combination with a hydraulic crawler excavator and a dump truck for more efficient work. When we talk about obligations towards the Municipality of Plužine, although the contract included four projects, three key infrastructure investments remain," said Executive Director Ivan Bulatović, according to Mediabiro.
After the national anthem was sung, the Mayor of Plužine, Slobodan Delić, addressed those present at the ceremonial session. On that occasion, he emphasized that a significant number of infrastructure projects had been implemented during the previous year, and that the Municipality of Plužine had begun preparations for the development of the Strategic Plan for the Municipality's Development for the period 2026–2030.
"Energy, tourism and agriculture represent the three most strategically important areas through which Plužine sees its opportunity for further development," said Delić.
He added that the project documentation for several infrastructure interventions at the local level has been completed, including the rehabilitation of landslides towards Gradac, the construction of city streets through the Bašta settlement, the construction of a street in the Hungarian region, as well as the construction of a street connecting the main road with the Lazar Sočica tower. The construction of a walking path to the chapel in the Hungarian region is also planned, as well as the improvement of the street leading to the military department.
As he emphasized, work has also begun on the development of project documentation for a wastewater treatment collector in the previous period, which represents an important step in improving municipal infrastructure, writes Mediabiro.
"Along with the improvement of the municipal center, we are also working on improving infrastructure in rural areas. Last year, eight kilometers of roads were asphalted and reconstructed, while this year we plan to build and rehabilitate more than ten kilometers," said the Mayor.
According to him, agriculture was supported with 700.000 euros in direct subsidies last year, which provided concrete assistance to local producers. The best students were awarded scholarships, and funds were also allocated for the promotion of culture and sports. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the landscaping of kindergarten yards was also planned, Delić concluded.
