A fire that broke out on the 12-meter-long vessel "Solino" near the island of Cvijeća has been extinguished, while one person was injured, the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority (UPSUL) announced.
The fire broke out on the vessel, which was about 100 meters from the shore, and the crew reported that the fire had broken out in the engine compartment, after which all relevant services responded immediately.
In addition to members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration, vessels and firefighters from the Luštica Bay and Porto Montenegro marinas were deployed to the scene, while the EKO-1 ship was deployed to prevent possible sea pollution.
"The fire was quickly localized and extinguished, and thanks to the coordination of the authorities, the vessel was directed to a safe berth, without any consequences for the environment. Further actions to determine the cause of the fire will be carried out by the competent inspections," UPSUL announced.
