The Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology has warned that high temperatures are expected in Montenegro.

"In the coming days, the Balkan region will be under the influence of a thermobaric ridge and a very warm air mass from north and northwest Africa, which will cause very hot weather. According to currently available forecast material, this situation will continue for most of next week. This heat wave will cause high air temperatures, tropical temperatures in most parts of the country, and in the Zeta-Bjelopavlić plain the maximum temperature will exceed 40 degrees," the statement reads.

High temperatures will also contribute to an increased risk of fire, making it difficult to function normally on a daily basis, so well-known protective measures and medical advice should be followed, the Institute emphasized.
