Members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Directorate today, in separate operations, on Velika Plaza near Ada Bojana, rescued three people who were in danger on SUP boards due to strong easterly winds on the open sea.

A UPSUL rescue scooter with a lifeguard intervened about two kilometers from the coast, where a couple from Serbia were, who were being carried by the wind towards the open sea.

As announced by UPSUL, another female person was rescued at the same time, who was on a SUP board in the same difficult weather conditions with a very strong easterly wind. Thanks to the quick and coordinated response of the rescuers, all three people were successfully evacuated to shore.

"Given the meteorologists' announcements that strong northerly winds will continue tomorrow, the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority appeals to swimmers and owners of vessels not to stray far from the coast and not to risk their lives by exposing themselves to dangerous weather conditions. We would also like to point out that all reports regarding events at sea can be reported to the Maritime Operations Center on the toll-free number 129," UPSUL announced.
