Secretary General of the Europe Now Movement, Boris Pejović, said that the party will advocate in parliament for the penalties for intentionally setting fires to be increased as soon as possible.
"Just a day after the tragic death of a member of the Montenegrin Army fighting a fire, the arsonist who set the fire in Kuči was arrested. On the other hand, there is suspicion that masked individuals attempted to set Gorica on fire - this is a shameful and senseless act, which shows complete disregard for the lives, health and property of their fellow citizens," Pejović announced.
Justice Minister Bojan Božović announced yesterday that the department will initiate a discussion on toughening penalties for setting fires.
"I fully support the announcement by Justice Minister Bojan Božović to increase penalties for intentionally setting fires. As soon as this proposal reaches the Parliament, PES will advocate for it to be considered and voted on as soon as possible, because those who endanger lives and burn our country must bear the strictest consequences," said Pejović.
