The Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed its gratitude to the company "Jugopetrol" for the donation of 20.000 liters of fuel intended for the Air-Helicopter Unit, which will significantly contribute to increasing operational readiness and faster response in situations where citizens, property and natural resources are threatened.
"This act represents a continuation of the socially responsible activities of the company Jugopetrol, which recently delivered three specialized Mercedes Actros water tankers to the Directorate for Protection and Rescue of the Ministry of the Interior, deployed to the municipalities of Bar, Kolašin and Mojkovac, which further improved readiness in fighting fires and other crisis situations," the statement reads.
The General Director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, Miodrag Bešović, said that the donation from "Jugopetrol" is of great importance for their capacities.
"The air-helicopter unit represents one of the pillars of the protection and rescue system, as it enables rapid intervention in the most difficult circumstances. The support we received is not only material, but also a strong message of solidarity and partnership in the mission of preserving the lives of people and the natural resources of Montenegro."
Jugopetrol CEO Vasilis Panagopoulos said they wanted to support the "heroic work" of firefighters and other services.
"Jugopetrol, as a long-standing partner of Montenegro in the field of energy, recognizes the responsibility to contribute to community safety and the protection of natural resources. By donating fuel to the Air-Helicopter Unit, as well as the previous donation of specialized tankers, we want to support the heroic work of firefighters and all services who make enormous efforts every day to protect people's lives and preserve our country."
The Ministry of Interior announced that they are committed to further improving the capacities of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and the Aviation and Helicopter Unit, in order to ensure an even faster and more efficient response in crisis situations and provide maximum protection to the citizens and natural values of Montenegro.
