Members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration (UPSUL), as well as the crew of a taxi boat, successfully carried out a rescue operation in Bar this morning to rescue six French citizens in the area of Crni Rt near Čanj.
The Maritime Operations Center (POC) received information from the Border Police Sector in Bar at around 9:30 a.m. that a group of people were on the inaccessible coast and needed evacuation. The information was also confirmed by the taxi boat "Montenegro", whose crew also reported that the vessel carrying the foreign nationals had been damaged.
"Immediately after the call, the Administration's rescue boat set sail with officers from the Search and Rescue Unit, who upon arrival at the location began the evacuation. The Montenegro taxi boat also participated in the operation, which was the first to arrive at the scene and come to the rescue," UPSUL announced.
Six French citizens were boarded on the UPSUL lifeboat, who were safely transported to the Port of Bar.
The Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority has appealed to all participants in maritime traffic to monitor weather forecasts and navigation conditions, especially boaters and owners of recreational vessels, bearing in mind that unfavorable weather conditions for navigation are expected in the coming days.
