The Montenegrin Science and Technology Hub - epiSTEMe announced today that it has launched the Back2matica project - Science Returns Home, in order to better utilize the potential of Montenegrin scientists in the diaspora and to connect domestic and international expertise.
"Montenegrin scientists in the diaspora represent a huge potential for the development of science and innovation in Montenegro. In order to better utilize this potential and connect domestic and international expertise, the Montenegrin Science and Technology Hub - epiSTEMe has launched the Back2matica - Science Returns Home project. The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Diaspora of Montenegro, and in cooperation with the Multimedia Studio EHO and Timelaps Production," the statement states.
The Montenegrin Science and Technology Hub - epiSTEMe added that the goals of the Back2matica project are to improve connectivity and cooperation between the scientific diaspora and the home country; open doors for new projects, mentorships and other scientific research initiatives; as well as promote the expertise of scientists from the diaspora and strengthen the scientific network of Montenegro.
"One of the key activities is mapping as many scientists and researchers from the Montenegrin diaspora as possible. The results of this mapping will serve as a solid base for future scientific and research initiatives and the improvement of the existing diaspora registry. The goal is to form a more comprehensive and functional database that can facilitate networking and long-term cooperation. We invite everyone who is part of the Montenegrin scientific community abroad to join this initiative in less than five minutes via a short online questionnaire, available at the link https://epistemehub.me/back2matica-3/".
