A delegation of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina in the Republic of Serbia, led by Prime Minister Maja Gojković, visited Tivat and met with the President of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and his associates.
As announced by Komnenović's office, the reason for the visit was an initiative to support the project to restore the Temple of Saint Sava in Tivat, and the formalization of future cultural and economic cooperation with Vojvodina was also announced at the meeting.
Komnenović said that it was a great honor to have the opportunity to officially host the President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina for the first time in Tivat.
"The focus of the conversation was the Provincial Government's support for the project to reconstruct the Temple of Saint Sava in Tivat, whose renovation is underway, as well as preparations for signing a comprehensive agreement on economic and cultural cooperation with our city. I would like to thank the Prime Minister, Mrs. Gojković, for the constructive conversation, as well as her associates who contributed to the realization of our first official meeting today. We will continue the continuity of cooperation through the realization of the Novi Sad Twin City Day in Tivat, which we expect at the end of September," Komnenović emphasized.
Gojković pointed out that they had the opportunity to discuss the development of relations in numerous fields.
"It is known that Tivat and Novi Sad, as the main administrative center of Vojvodina, signed a twinning agreement several years ago, thus formalizing long-standing close relations. This is a path that has shown us that there is great potential for the entire Province to actively get involved and support individual projects. This time, the focus is on culture and the project to restore the Temple of Saint Sava, namely part of the interior work on painting frescoes, which our Government will financially support. Next comes the definition of an agreement on joint cooperation and the areas in which we will cooperate, which are primarily culture, tourism, economy, education, sports. We expect you at the upcoming tourism fair in Novi Sad," Gojković told the people of Tivat.

The official meeting in the Office of the Mayor of the Municipality of Tivat was also attended by the Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism of Vojvodina Nenad Ivanišević, the Director of the Fund for Refugees, Displaced Persons and for Cooperation with Serbs in the Region Aleksandar Đedovac, the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Montenegro Ljubica Kubura, the President of the Tivat Municipal Assembly Miljan Marković and the Manager of the Municipality Ivona Petrović.
After the official meeting in the Municipality building, the delegation visited the Temple of Saint Sava in Tivat, where they were welcomed by the head of the temple, protosingel Pavle Pajić.
According to unofficial information, the Provincial Government of Vojvodina will allocate around half a million euros for the renovation and detailed fresco painting of the Temple of Saint Sava in Tivat.
