Milatović launches scholarship program for the best students at prestigious world universities

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović has launched a scholarship program for the best students at prestigious world universities, his office announced.

"In Montenegro, where changes are taking place, knowledge is the most important resource we have, the foundation of personal, social and national future. Guided by this idea, the President of Montenegro launched the first presidential scholarship program, intended for our best students at prestigious universities in the world," the statement reads.

This initiative, it is added, sends a strong message that courage, dedication and ambition are recognized and supported, and that Montenegro believes in its young people.

"When it is easier to leave and build your future abroad, the decision to become a scholarship holder of the President of Montenegro, to invest your knowledge and new experience in the development of our country, becomes an act of responsibility and love for the homeland," the statement reads.

They said that it is precisely these values ​​that this program wants to strengthen: "that the best among us have the support to become the leaders of tomorrow's Montenegro."

"Scholarships totaling 50 thousand euros (5 thousand euros per student) were provided thanks to the financial support of the Mtel company, confirming that together we can invest in those who will shape our future," Milatović's office announced.

The public call received 57 applications from young people who "represent the future of Montenegro with their dedication and results", and the Commission, based on clearly defined criteria, selected the 10 best candidates:

1. Amir Kolić – fourth-year undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), winner of the bronze medal at the Balkaniad in mathematics.

2. Darija Maraš – first year of Master's degree in Finance (MFin) at the University of Cambridge.

3. Dimitrije Raonić – first year of master's studies at the Department of Robotics and Control Systems at ETH Zurich.

4. Lucia Stanković – third year undergraduate student in political science and environmental studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

5. Luka Adžić – second year of undergraduate studies at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, bronze medalist at the International Economic Olympiad.

6. Matija Babić – second year of undergraduate studies at University College London (UCL), Integrated Master of Science in Mathematics and Physics program; silver award at the International Competition in Astronomy and Astrophysics.

7. Nađa Stojanović – first year of master's studies in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Cambridge.

8. Staša Tomović – second year undergraduate student in biology and neurology at Northwestern University.

9. Vladimir Stanković – first year of undergraduate studies at Boston University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences

10. Vuk Čurović – first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago.
