It is with immense regret that I conclude that for the thousandth time I was right, even though I suffered a barrage of media attacks yesterday because I caught in a lie all those who claimed that the commission did not reach a positive opinion on the construction of the collector in Botun. This is all the more reason for the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) to form a case ex officio today and investigate all circumstances that indicate that this is a case of high-level corruption.
This was stated by the leader of the Democratic People's Party, Milan Knežević, reacting to the news that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has given the Capital City approval for the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to build a wastewater treatment system, the construction of which is planned in the industrial zone of the Aluminum Plant (KAP), on urban plots located in the cadastral municipality of Dajbabe.
He said yesterday that the positive opinion and approval for the construction of the collector have already been prepared and that on Friday the commission formed by the Environmental Protection Agency should publish them, accusing the Agency of corruption.
"It is clear to everyone that this is not a 'profession' but a disgrace that will remain recorded as an academic embarrassment and a signpost to young generations where they should not go. I expect that the SDT investigation, in addition to the director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Milan Gazdić, will also include certain construction tycoons who changed their political jerseys after the fall of the DPS, and want to take on the positions of subcontractors in this project of ecological genocide against Zeta. Instead of examining the origin of their capital and confiscating assets acquired through corruption and abuse, this illiterate Tycoonarium, with unchewed shrimp tentacles still protruding from its lower back, thought that it would trample on Zeta and the people of Zeta and their right to a healthy life and environment through a number of politicians in power," Knežević stated in today's press release.
If there is no reaction from the prosecution, Knežević announced that he will personally file criminal charges against the commission members, and use all available constitutional means to continue the fight against the "corrupt octopus".
"And since I was called upon yesterday to convince the profession about the harmfulness of installing a collector in Botun, I inform the public that in the coming days I will present to the citizens terrifying data on how the environment in Zeta is being deliberately and systematically destroyed, and how the construction of a collector in Botun would turn this municipality into a Montenegrin Chernobyl. So, I have no intention of convincing the 'profession', because with today's opinion they have written themselves out of that category. The only ones who need to be convinced are the citizens of Botun, so I invite the members of the commission, members of the Tycoonarium, politicians and everyone who wants to build a collector in Gornja Zeta to visit this village and, with the power of their arguments, gain support for this criminal plan. Running away from your people is not the best tactic, many have tried, but the people always determine their place in life, politics and history. And I am completely calmly awaiting the judgment of my people," concluded Knežević.
