Due to the worsening hydrological situation and reduced spring yields, a new, more restrictive water shutdown regime is being introduced in Nikšić starting today, the Nikšić Waterworks announced.
Instead of the previous regime according to which settlements were without water from 7 am to 19 pm, three existing groups of settlements will be disconnected alternately from today in two intervals, from 7 am to 19 pm and from 19 pm to 7 am.
"Due to the increasingly deteriorating hydrological situation, the yield of the springs in the water supply system of Nikšić has been significantly reduced. The current plan for suspending water supply to suburban settlements no longer provides the required results, because despite the planned groups of settlements being disconnected from the water supply network, the rest of the water supply system is not functioning adequately. Bearing all this in mind, from tomorrow, September 06, 9, a change in the disconnection plan will come into effect and somewhat more restrictive measures will be introduced, which will allow the water supply process to be optimized in accordance with the currently available quantities of water in the coming period," said the Water Supply Authority.
The shutdown plan, as they state, is being changed so that the three current groups of settlements, in the already established order, will be disconnected alternately in two intervals, from 7 am to 19 pm and from 7 pm to 19 am, instead of the previous shutdown in the interval from 19 am to 7 pm.
The first group includes the settlements of Kočani, Poljica, Vitalac, Štedim, Crnodoli, Grebice, Mokra Njiva (except for the Brezovik hospital), Glibavac, Miločani Zavrh, the second group includes Dragova Luka, Ćemenca, Humci, Ošrovac, Rubeža, Dragovoljići, and the third group includes Ozrinići, Bršno, Straševina, Gornje Polje, Šipačno, Orah, Šume, Lukovo, Kličevo (except for the part of Trebješka Street where the Home for the Elderly is located) and Bogetići.
"For your information, tomorrow, September 6th, as determined by the previous schedule, the second group of settlements will be disconnected from the distribution network in the interval from 9am to 7pm, the third group from 19pm to 19am, and so on," concluded the Water Company.
