Children become little guardians of cultural heritage through play and creativity, said Milena Milatović, the wife of the President of Montenegro, at the presentation of educational coloring books "Folk Costumes of Montenegro", the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
As stated in the statement, the educational coloring book was presented today, organized by the International Women's Club, and the project is sponsored by Milatović.
"Coloring books for children are not only a tool for playing, but also for learning, developing creativity, imagination, concentration and fine motor skills. However, this coloring book is much more than that - it is an opportunity to better understand the wealth of Montenegro's cultural heritage and, most importantly, to teach children how precious diversity can be," Milatović pointed out.
She added that the emotions, memories, stories and dreams of our ancestors are woven into folk costumes.
"By nurturing this part of our ethnographic heritage, we are actually nurturing multiculturalism and social inclusion. Different regions, as well as different ethnic and national communities, build a valuable, colorful and harmonious wealth of our country," she emphasized.
As stated in the statement, Milatović thanked the International Women's Club of Montenegro for its initiative and dedication, emphasizing that she will always provide support to such and similar projects.
"Dear children, this coloring book is the key that opens the door to a great treasury in which we preserve our culture. As you color the beautiful illustrations, you will become little guardians of the cultural heritage of Montenegro. Be joyful as you color, be proud as you learn, and never forget that what you carry within you – togetherness, love, and mutual respect – is the greatest wealth you can share with the world," added Milatović, addressing the little ones.
