A 15-year-old boy from Podgorica was brutally beaten two days ago in the immediate vicinity of the Secondary Mixed School in Golubovci, and according to reports from doctors at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, he suffered serious physical injuries - a fractured hand, as well as multiple hematomas on his face and body.
On suspicion of causing serious bodily harm to a peer, and on the orders of the Basic State Prosecutor, the police yesterday arrested three minors, students of the same school, aged 14 and 15.
According to information from "Vijesti", they also beat the boy with metal bars, allegedly in full view of the driver of the "BLT Zeta" bus, who did not react or call the police.
The case was reported to the police by the mother, after the boy received medical attention at the KCCG.
The Police Directorate announced yesterday that on September 8, the boy's mother reported to the Podgorica Security Department that her minor son had been physically attacked near the Secondary School in Golubovci by several unknown persons.
They also state that, in cooperation with the competent prosecutor's office and the school administration, information was collected from minors, and that material from surveillance cameras was also seized.
"Due to suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of violent behavior in conjunction with the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm in co-perpetration, by order of the acting prosecutor, three minors aged 14 and 15 were deprived of their liberty. They will be taken to the competent prosecutor for further jurisdiction and action," the Police Directorate announced.
Jokić: They're warning him, not informing his parents
While the school claims that they have taken all possible measures "because the incident occurred outside the schoolyard," the injured boy's mother Bojana Jokić She told "Vijesti" that "as a parent, I am deeply shaken and disappointed by the school's reaction."
"And the unprofessional attitude towards my son, who suffered serious physical injuries as a result of a physical attack with metal batons by other students. I find it particularly inappropriate and unacceptable that no one from the school contacted me, as a parent, but rather the class teacher warned the minor child via voice message that he 'must not take revenge', even though my child was unfit to go to school at that moment, let alone fight," said Jokić.
Jokić also emphasized that the bus driver of the private company "BLT Zeta" "observed the violence against my child the entire time, did not react, did not notify the police, or ask the child how he was."
"The only help was provided by the third graders, and only after my son got on the bus, when they gave him tissues to wipe the blood off. Peer violence in schools is reaching such proportions that we, parents, no longer have the security or confidence to send our children to school, because we fear for their safety. As a mother, I feel a deep distrust of institutions, and especially of the school that was unable to protect my child. This distrust has reached a level that is difficult to describe in words," Jokić emphasized.
She said that she had filed a report with the Police Department, but also announced that she would "file legal action against the school."
"As well as demanding disciplinary proceedings against all responsible persons who had the opportunity to prevent this event, but did not do so. I will also demand responsibility for the children themselves who participated in this violence, as well as their parents," said Jokić, emphasizing that "the professionalism of the staff of the Institute for Children's Diseases of the Croatian Children's Hospital and the on-duty inspector of the Police Directorate, who in such difficult moments restore at least some trust in institutions."
Boričić: We are sorry, we are doing everything we can.
Principal of the school in Golubovci Drazen Boricic, however, claims that the institution did everything it could considering that the incident occurred “outside the schoolyard”.
"We are sorry that our student was a victim of violence. I am shocked both as a person and as the head of the institution," said Boričić, specifying that the student was in first grade.
He emphasized that upon learning of the incident, the school notified all institutions and made itself available to the prosecutor's office and the police.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation confirmed to "Vijesti" yesterday that they were informed about the incident that occurred on September 8, 2025, after the 6th hour of the first shift.
They also said that they are monitoring the school's actions and providing support in implementing the prescribed prevention and student protection measures.
"The school immediately took all measures to identify the participants and clarify the circumstances of the event, including activating the Violence Prevention Team, cooperating with the relevant police, holding parent meetings, and increasing the police presence in the school environment to prevent similar events," the department responded.
"Vijesti" yesterday tried to contact the private transporter, whose driver allegedly observed the incident in front of the Zeta school on Monday, but he did not react.
We were told that they would contact the company's management and that they would get back to the journalist, and that the position was that "every citizen should be sanctioned if they made a mistake," but after that they never heard back...
This is the second known case of peer violence in the last few days. At the end of last week, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal complaint against a fifteen-year-old for the criminal offense of violent behavior, and a misdemeanor charge against the parents of a thirteen-year-old - the perpetrator of the same incident.
These minors brutally beat up a peer, also outside the schoolyard, but in the immediate vicinity of the "Blažo Jokov Orlandić" Elementary School, while classes were in session...
