Nina Ofner Bokan has been re-elected as the president of the Jewish Community of Montenegro.
The statement from the Jewish Community of Montenegro stated that at the General Assembly of members of that community, Ofner Bokan was elected unanimously for a five-year term.
"Ofner Bokan has dedicatedly led the community in previous years, contributing to its strengthening, development and recognition in society. Her leadership was marked by a commitment to preserving Jewish identity, nurturing tradition and creating conditions for the further progress of the community. The new mandate brings continued continuity and joint work to achieve ambitious goals," the statement said.
Ofner Bokan said that she is grateful for the trust shown and the opportunity to continue leading the Jewish Community of Montenegro in the coming period.
"I see the re-election not only as recognition of our work so far, but also as an obligation to continue courageously and responsibly. At a time when we are witnessing the rise of anti-Semitism around the world, I proudly emphasize that we feel safe and accepted in Montenegro, which I consider the greatest value that we must jointly preserve. Our strategic goal remains the same: the inheritance of multiculturalism and social harmony, so that the Jewish Community of Montenegro can be an example of a vital, open and connected community that contributes to the society in which we live," said Ofner Bokan.
