Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović praised the education system of the United Arab Emirates, saying that their clear vision of development until 2071 can also serve as inspiration when it comes to the upcoming reform of the education system in Montenegro.

During her working visit to the Emirates, she met with the Minister of Emiratization, Human Resources and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE, Abdulrahman Al Awar.

Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of researchers, professors and students, as well as on establishing cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the Abu Dhabi Advanced Research and Innovation Center (ARIC), and the possibility of establishing cooperation between other higher education institutions in Montenegro and the UAE was also considered.

Minister Jakšić Stojanović emphasized the importance of modern, digitally oriented education and presented the activities of the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, through which "science, research and technological entrepreneurship in the country are increasingly supported", the Ministry of Education and Science announced.

Al Awar presented the UAE's latest success in the field of artificial intelligence - K2-Think, the latest open-source model, developed by the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and the company G42 and which is "proof of how innovation and industrial collaboration can shape a new era of artificial intelligence - one that is more accessible and directly targeted at the needs of education, science and the economy," the statement said.

The focus of the discussion was also on cooperation with the prestigious coding school 42 Abu Dhabi, which prepares new generations of technology leaders. It was agreed to consider launching a pilot project of such a school in the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, as a step towards strengthening the IT and innovation ecosystem in the country.

The Minister emphasized that the number of Montenegrin students in the UAE is continuously increasing, and thanked her partners from the Emirates for the scholarships and support they provide to our students.

"The visit further confirms Montenegro's commitment to the development of modern education, open to international cooperation and innovation," the statement reads.
