President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović chaired the inaugural session of the Council of Youth Initiatives today. He said that this is one of the initiatives he is most proud of since becoming president.
"By forming the Council, we are strengthening the most valuable thing we have - the youth of Montenegro - in creating a modern, just and European state," said Milatović.
He added that young people are the drivers of society and that the best among them should be given the opportunity to perform the most responsible jobs in the country.
"This is the only way we can stop the departure of young people and create conditions for Montenegro to progress," said Milatović.
As announced by the President's Office, Milatović recalled that he has already shown his commitment to young people through scholarships for education at prestigious universities, a Memorandum with the Faculty of Political Sciences, but also that new partnerships with other faculties are in the works.
"The Council will not be another body on paper, but the real power of young people, their voice and their influence. This is your chance to be the generation that stays, builds and changes Montenegro," said Milatović.
He emphasized that the Council will be a key partner in creating solutions in the areas of education and employment, youth policy, health, culture, science, ecology, European integration and human rights.
The members of the Council expressed their belief that the Council will become a driver of positive changes in society and that it will work responsibly and dedicatedly to create a better future for the citizens of our country.
