The host of the event is the Montenegrin CAA, based on a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation.

As announced, the directors of the civil aviation agencies of Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania agree that joint planning and coordination contribute to more efficient harmonization and implementation of European and international standards.

"The participants of the meeting discussed the coordination of activities for participation in the upcoming Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will gather representatives of countries from all over the world in Montreal from September 23 to October 3. One of the topics was the coordination of activities ahead of the next Joint Committee of the European Common Aviation Area Agreement (ECAA JC). This platform is of great importance for EU candidate countries, as it represents a bridge towards full inclusion in the European aviation system," the statement said.

The CAA added that the continuation of training and development of professional staff, as well as mutual support of experts, was considered important in order to enable a faster exchange of knowledge and experiences.

"The interlocutors touched upon, among other things, the idea of forming a regional Training Center for training experts in the field of civil aviation, establishing a base of experts, who would be available to all countries in the region for more efficient implementation of the highest standards," the statement concludes.
