The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on its website published the text "Ecological State of Montenegro" - an introduction to the book by Dragan S. Hajduković, which will be published soon.
They said that Ecological State Day, a national holiday celebrated today, is a reminder of the power of the vision that 34 years ago "promised Montenegro to be the first ecological state in the world."
"The book carries two powerful chapters: the original text from 1991 – 'The Way Out of the Crisis', a historical document of the emergence of the idea; a view three and a half decades later – a vision of the future and a roadmap for how an ecological state can finally come to life," writes the EPA.
Today marks 34 years since the Parliament adopted the declaration proclaiming Montenegro the first ecological country in the world.
"It is time to return to the promise of the Declaration and give it new meaning," the Agency said.
