The "Do Good" Foundation announced today that, in cooperation with the Institute for Education and the Science and Technology Park (NTP), and with the financial support of the companies ETG Grupa doo and Hidroproject doo, on the occasion of Ecological State Day, it organized the "Eco Adventure" competition at the NTP premises.
The statement added that "Eco Adventure" is an innovative social game that encourages the development of environmental awareness in children through fun and teamwork.
"The game motivates students to think about preserving nature, proper waste disposal, saving resources, protecting the environment, and the importance of a circular economy. This game also develops critical thinking, creativity, team spirit, and communication skills, providing children with a learning experience through play. The competition enabled students from six Montenegrin schools, aged 10 and 11, to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and learn how to play as a team through various challenges," the statement reads.
The competition was opened by the director of the Institute, Raba Hodžić, on behalf of the Institute for Education.
She said that this competition sends an important message, that education, creativity and responsibility towards nature go together, and that by participating in it, children show that they are ready to build a society that fosters knowledge, solidarity and a commitment to the common good.
Hodžić pointed out that she was particularly pleased that the competition was organized on the very day when Montenegro was declared an ecological state.
"Your energy and curiosity confirm that this idea lives and grows with new generations," said Hodžić.
She emphasized that the Institute for Education, together with the "Do Good" Foundation, strives to bring innovations, modern technologies and ecological values closer to young people.
The director of the "Do Good" foundation, Marija Manja Jovović, said that this was the first competition, organized exactly one year after the promotion of "Eco Adventure".
"It doesn't matter who wins, what's important today is that you leave here with the goal of living an 'Eco Adventure'. This means that you understand and are aware that the future of our country depends on you. You should pass on your knowledge to your peers and remind us older people to protect nature, because everything depends on it," said Jovović, urging the children to be eco-promoters.
Eight teams participated in the competition, each team had five children, and the teams were divided into two groups.
The teams were made up of male and female students from different schools, and the expert jury, in addition to correct answers, also evaluated team cooperation.
The competition was attended by students from the following primary schools: JU Elementary School "Novka Ubović", Podgorica, JU Elementary School "Oktoih", Podgorica, JU Elementary School "Maksim Gorki", Podgorica, JU Elementary School "Kekec", Sutomore, JU Elementary School "Njegoš", Spuž and JU Elementary School "Mirko Srzentić", Petrovac.
The two most successful teams were selected. The second place went to the "Eco Heroes" team, while the first place went to the "Forest Heroes" team.
The "Eco Heroes" team included Sofi Džagazović, Danilo Brajović, Matija Bojović, Luka Škopelja and Sofija Pajović.
The first-place team "Forest Heroes" included Sofija Glavatović, Miloš Šćekić, Danilo Seferović, Una Kovačević and Vuk Medojević.
A student at the "Oktoih" Elementary School in Podgorica, Sofija Glavatović, was on the team that won first place. She says that the competition was very interesting, and that teamwork was the key to victory. She says that the questions were not difficult and that they were adapted to their age. Sofija told her peers to protect nature and be kind to people.
A student of the Mirko Srzentić Elementary School, Sofija Pajović from Petrovac, was a member of the second-place team. She said that this game is very educational and interesting and that it should become very popular.
One of the few participants in the competition Novak Vukic, A student at the "Novka Ubović" elementary school in Podgorica says he met a lot of new friends from other schools. Delighted with this game, Novak told children, but also adults, to create more similar competitions and games.

The board game "Eco Adventure" was created through the Supported=Empowered program, within the "Active Participation" grant scheme, implemented by FAKT in partnership with the Slagalica Foundation from Croatia. The program was funded by the European Union and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro.
