The Vice President of the Capital City Assembly, Dragutin Vučinić (Movement for Podgorica), has resigned from that position.
"I made the decision after careful consideration, given that I made a public promise that I would submit it if they did not adopt the Amendments and Supplements to the Spatial and Urban Plan of Podgorica without accepting those proposals, suggestions and objections that I advocated for during the public debate on the Draft of the same document and through the NGO 'Association for the Development of Pipera', and which I submitted in writing. I independently submitted fourteen suggestions and objections and submitted them in writing, as well as one suggestion that I submitted with the residents of the Bioče Local Community, to which, as an accompanying document, a list with 282 signatures of citizens of this Local Community was attached," Vučinić wrote in a document published on the website of the local parliament.
He says that he decided to resign because the Capital City and Mayor Saša Mujović did not find it appropriate to consult with him about any of the above, to include it among the submitted proposals, suggestions and comments, and to have such a document then accepted and adopted at the electronic session of the Government in mid-August.
"I would like to thank my colleagues for their cooperation and understanding during my mandate, with the belief that the Assembly will continue to act in the best interests of the citizens of Podgorica, to which I will contribute as its councilor," Vučinić wrote.
