The Environmental Inspection conducted 236 inspections on the territory of Montenegro in September.
As announced by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development, 49 of these were regular, 151 were at the initiative of citizens, institutions and other entities, while 36 were control inspections.
"In the aforementioned period, 80 irregularities were identified, and the need to eliminate minor omissions was indicated 20 times. A total of 141 decisions were issued to eliminate irregularities, two decisions to prohibit the performance of activities, and one decision to reject the initiative due to lack of jurisdiction," it was announced.
During September, six criminal charges were filed, while misdemeanor proceedings were initiated in two cases.
The Environmental Inspectorate also issued 28 notifications forwarding initiatives to competent authorities, ensuring better coordination and efficiency in the implementation of environmental regulations.
"The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development recalls that a significant part of the activities relate to procedures related to the prevention and remediation of environmental damage, as well as regular inspections of legal and natural persons for compliance with environmental protection regulations. The Environmental Inspection will continue with increased supervision and preventive activities in the coming period, with the aim of improving the state of the environment and preserving the natural resources of Montenegro," it was announced.
