Members of the Rotary Club of Kotor organized a traditional outing on Saturday for residents of the Home for Children Without Parental Care "Mladost" from Bijela.
The children had the opportunity to visit Tivat Airport, where they spent an unforgettable morning in the role of real passengers.
During the visit, they toured Terminal 2, checked in and received their boarding passes, while employees of the Airport of Montenegro patiently explained to them how airport procedures work. The children then went through document control and security checks, toured the departure gate and learned firsthand what the pre-flight passenger process looks like.
On the platform, they observed the planes up close, then boarded the Air Montenegro Embraer E195, where they were greeted by the crew and captain.
"Each child entered the cockpit and had the opportunity to learn how the pilot's controls work - and even 'choose' their destination, the one they had previously written on their boarding pass. The socializing continued in the vehicle of the Tivat Airport Rescue and Fire Department, where the children had the opportunity to see how the airport protection and rescue service works, as well as to observe airplane takeoffs and landings from close range. In the end, Airports of Montenegro provided the children with appropriate gifts - as a nice memento of a day filled with smiles and new experiences," the Rotary Club of Kotor announced.
After visiting Tivat Airport, the children's excursion from the Bijela Home continued with a tour of the special "Tivatska Solila" Nature Reserve, and the gathering ended with lunch.
This traditional annual action of the Rotary Club of Kotor dedicated to children from the Home in Bijela was this time coordinated by Renate Bergan Grandis and supported by the Airports of Montenegro, JP Morsko dobro and numerous sponsors.
