David Camaj, a farmer from Malaysia, said that as many times before, as one of the biggest producers in Montenegro, he is looking for protection for his products and that he can place them on the market without fear of not being able to sell them.

He pointed out that it is not his intention, nor does he want to ban the import of the owner of the company "Zeta fruit" Dragan Popović or anyone else.

"I just want the opportunity to sell my product and for once in my life to pay off my long-term effort, sweat and money that I invest", said Camaj.

He said that agriculture is one of the most represented branches in Montenegro and that it has great opportunities

"We produce a lot and they are very high-quality products, and Montenegrin producers are almost enough for their country," believes Camaj.

Popović announced last week that the culprits for poor sales and low prices of domestic products are at another address, and not as claimed by domestic producers and importers.

He said this, reacting to the statement of Camaj, who told "Vijesti" that the season "never got worse", for which "as always, imports are to blame".

Camaj pointed out that he hopes that the conversation with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović, which they had last week, will bear fruit and that in the end everyone will be satisfied.

Simović's meeting with farmers from Malaysia followed after producers from that area threatened to block the main road Tuzi - Božaj on June 8 or 9, due to what they claim is uncontrolled import of fruits and vegetables from Albania.

"And I am sure that the citizens of Montenegro prefer to buy domestic products, rather than imported ones of dubious quality," said Camaj.
