Nikola Bojanovic He was elected commander of the Podgorica Protection and Rescue Service for a full, five-year term.
He confirmed this information to "Vijesti", adding that he will "continue to perform his work in the city's Protection and Rescue Service conscientiously, responsibly and professionally."
"Our mission is to protect people's lives and property. It is an obligation we take extremely seriously," said Bojanović.
He was appointed acting (vd) commander of the Podgorica Service by the mayor in May. Saša Mujović after his term expired in the middle of that month Zdravko Blečić.
Responding to the question of whether working conditions in the Protection and Rescue Service will improve in the coming period, Bojanović points out that they are "actively working on it."
"The capital has already shown its willingness to invest in the modernization of vehicles, equipment and training of firefighters, and I will continue to work dedicatedly to ensure that our employees have the best possible conditions for performing this demanding and responsible job. Only with quality equipment and motivated employees and people can we maintain the high level of safety and preparedness that our fellow citizens are accustomed to," he said.
On August 29, the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society of the Capital City announced a vacancy for a full-time commander.
"Vijesti" recently wrote that the competition lasted 20 days, and that Bojanović was the only candidate.
According to the public competition, an adult, healthy person, a Montenegrin citizen, and who has the prescribed level of educational qualifications could be elected as the commander of the Protection and Rescue Service.
It was also necessary that he/she had passed a professional exam, as well as not been convicted of a criminal offense "that makes him/her unworthy of working in a state body."
In addition to general requirements, there were also specific requirements that the candidate had to meet.
"The candidate must have a VII-1 level of educational qualification, at least five years of work experience in protection and rescue tasks at the VII-1 level of educational qualification, have passed the second professional exam for work in state bodies in the field of protection and rescue, and be psychophysically fit."
