The Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Fund of Montenegro, at its meeting yesterday, made a decision to dismiss the director, Dr. Vuk Kadić, for gross and deliberate violation of the law, in connection with signing contracts with foreign health institutions without the consent of the Ministry of Health.
This is stated in a press release from the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Fund, submitted by the president of that body, Marko Tomašević. It is stated that the Board of Directors worked in extremely difficult and stressful circumstances.
"Instead of cooperation, we have faced obstruction, pressure, threats and targeting of members of the Board of Directors both through business correspondence and through certain media. Citizens should know: behind the loud statements and political accusations lies a simple truth - the Fund's director knowingly violated the law and must be held accountable for it," it was assessed.
The statement says that four out of six members of the Board of Directors present voted in favor of Kadić's dismissal and that a representative of the Trade Union abstained, while a member of the Board of Directors from among the employees voted against Kadić's dismissal, and a representative of the Employers' Union did not attend the meeting.
"Due to the specific situation, and in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the Fund, the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Fund of Montenegro promptly made a decision to appoint dentist Aleksandar Ružić as the Acting Director of the Health Insurance Fund until the appointment of a director in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law," it was announced.
