The Directorate for Protection and Rescue of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned that there is a possibility of severe weather in certain locations in the coming days.
Based on information from the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology, they said, heavy rainfall is expected in the next seven to eight days, accompanied by strong, sometimes stormy winds from the south and southeast.
"Due to these meteorological conditions, there is a possibility of severe weather in certain locations," the statement reads, noting that such a situation can significantly complicate daily activities and cause certain consequences on the ground.
The Directorate has advised citizens and institutions to: adapt activities to current weather conditions and avoid being outdoors during the most intense rainfall and gusts of wind; to follow official announcements and recommendations from competent services through the media and official communication channels.
They also advise paying special attention to the condition of watercourses, atmospheric drainage and the stability of buildings, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides, as well as strong waves; and to ensure free access for fire and rescue services in the event of an intervention.
"The Directorate forwarded the aforementioned warning to all entities in the protection and rescue system, with a recommendation to increase operational readiness and increase monitoring of the situation in the field," the statement reads.
