On the occasion of World Television Day, the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU) sent its congratulations to all journalists, editors, producers, cameramen and other professionals who contribute daily to the development of television as a medium in Montenegro.
This date, AMU points out, reminds us every year how television, despite changes in audience habits and strong competition from digital platforms, remains one of the most influential and reliable sources of information.
"Television remains a space where image, word and emotion come together, thus building a bridge between events and citizens and providing context for social processes," it was announced.
In partnership with the Faculty of Political Science, AMU organized a discussion with students on the topic "What is television today?". The guest of the discussion was the editor-in-chief of Nova M, Jelena Ćorluka, who is also a former student of that faculty. Her professional experience, built through years of work in the news program, gave the students the opportunity to get acquainted with the dynamics of television journalism firsthand.
During the meeting, Ćorluka spoke about the changes television is going through, but also about its ability to maintain its credibility and position as a reliable medium in the age of fast-paced content.
She particularly emphasized that there is still a great need for responsible television journalism and quality prepared programming.
"Television is changing, but the essence remains the same - the audience is looking for verified information, clear context and a professional approach. I am glad to have the opportunity to return to the faculty where I myself took my first steps towards this profession. Meetings with students are always a reminder of how important it is to invest in new generations who will shape the media space," said Ćorluka.
The conversation also opened up topics such as the influence of digital platforms, the challenges in creating news programming, and ways in which young journalists can prepare for work in a fast-paced and demanding television newsroom.
The Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU) emphasizes the important role of television in providing reliable information and shaping public opinion, and expresses its gratitude to all television professionals whose dedicated work contributes to the development and quality of the media environment in Montenegro.
