Bečić: Today we are witnessing revolutionary reforms in the security sector

Today we are witnessing revolutionary reforms in the security sector, announced today the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Security, Defense, Fight against Crime and Internal Policy, Aleksa Bečić.

The Police Academy in Danilovgrad announced that Bečić said this in Danilovgrad, speaking at the graduation ceremony for the 17th generation of the Police Academy.

The statement added that Bečić "expressed his gratitude to the management and employees of the Academy for their effort and work, all with the aim of adequately preparing the participants for everything that awaits them in the modern challenges of maintaining safety and security."

"Today you are witnessing that we have given professionals a chance, that the state stands behind them and that it has enabled them to have support, to feel the protection and strength of the state, to do what is their job, what they were educated for and what the law says to them," said Bečić.

He added that for this reason, today we have an ever stronger, more powerful and more determined fight against all forms of crime.

"A struggle in which every day, every week, every month, you witness numerous actions in which, in full accordance with the law, an institutional attack is being made on drug cartels, the tobacco mafia, the environmental mafia, economic crime and all other forms of crime," said Bečić.

Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović said that the police profession implies honorable, professional and responsible service to the interests of every citizen of Montenegro, and warned the cadets to never forget that serving their country also means great responsibility and obligation.

"Today, all eyes are on you. Try to remember the sense of pride we all have today, the trust that was placed in you and which you justified, the joy that we share today during this solemn act. But try not to forget that we all have great expectations of you - and that is to fully restore the trust of citizens in the police and become a pillar of security for our country," said Jakšić Stojanović.

The Director of the Police Academy, Nenad Vojinović, pointed out that the demands in performing police duties are becoming greater every day, both in Montenegro and around the world.

"Better professional and specialist training and competence of police officers, crime scene technicians, operatives and other personnel of the Police Directorate to combat all forms of modern crime and to respond more efficiently to all security challenges is becoming a priority for every modern society. At the Academy, we are continuously working on innovating educational programs, implementing new didactic methods, modernizing techniques and teaching aids, and improving the teaching and instructional staff," said Vojinović.

He said that the investment cycle was started the previous year.

"The total value of investment works this year amounted to over half a million euros. The Police Academy has been recognized with the capital budget for the coming year. The Government of Montenegro has allocated 3,1 million for the construction of an amphitheater with a library and offices in the premises of the Police Academy," concluded Vojinović.

The statement says that the best student of the 17th generation, Sara Blagojević, on behalf of her colleagues, thanked the lecturers, class teachers and employees at the Academy for the trust and care shown during the education and training process.

"Each of us now bears the responsibility to justify the trust placed in us. It is our duty to be a symbol of justice, integrity and humanity. To show through our actions that service to the homeland is not just a calling, but an honor and an obligation," said Blagojević.

In the 17th generation, 89 students completed their education at the Police Academy.
