Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović reiterated that the Inspection Directorate has been ordered to investigate whether the tent at the location intended for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Botun was erected in accordance with the law.
He said this during the opening of the renovated Nikola Tesla Street in Podgorica.
He explained that they were following the procedure, adding that he had confidence in their work.
Mujović also said that he does not want to bid against time when it comes to the construction of a collector in the Zeta settlement of Botun.
"The procedure is underway. We first have to be clean before the law, in terms of obtaining permission to begin work. That terrain has to be clean, and when will that happen, before or after the referendum. The referendum is not binding for us. We respect the residents of Zeta and their desire to express their position in the referendum, but the Capital City has its own work dynamics and priorities. The wastewater treatment plant is the priority of all priorities, so we definitely have to start in the coming days," he said.
Mujović also said that he was pleased to open Nikola Tesla Street, adding that the work took two and a half months.
The value of the reconstruction, he pointed out, was 440.000 euros.
"We have a modern road that is to the satisfaction of this part of the city and Podgorica. This part of the city and Zagorič are our priorities for the end of this year," said Mujović.
He said that Brskutska Street remains "one of the problems that has been lingering for years."
Mujović also said that they are working on a project to reconstruct the underpass.
He said that they will start building a new school in Zabjelo very soon.
"Podgorica is not just the city center. Tomorrow, work begins on the street next to the Small Sports Stadium. We are solving problems that have not been solved for years," said Mujović.
The President of the Capital City Assembly, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, said that the renovated Nikola Tesla Street is another project that the city administration has implemented.
"We are continuing on this path. A number of other streets are being announced that we will reconstruct in the coming period, as promised to the citizens. This is an important project for the citizens who live here. This neighborhood has been neglected for a long time," Borovinić Bojović pointed out.
