Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković and the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms Siniša Bjeković signed the Protocol on the storage and protection of secret data, protection of secrecy and confidentiality of proceedings, and protection of personal data, with the aim of protecting citizens' rights and strengthening institutional cooperation.
As announced by the institution of the Protector, the purpose of the Protocol is to raise the level of security in the use of sensitive information and strengthen security and respect for the fundamental rights of every person.
"The Protocol establishes clear obligations regarding the preservation of confidential and personal data, their use exclusively for legally prescribed purposes, and consistent adherence to standards of confidentiality of procedures. Marković and Bjeković emphasized that this Protocol improves trust and harmonization of procedures in cases involving the processing of sensitive data in both institutions," it was announced.
