The Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation is launching a humanitarian campaign "Be a holiday hero!"

The goal, as they announced, is to prepare and distribute 5.000 New Year's gifts to children across the country, with the support of citizens and socially responsible companies.

"The Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation has been working in the field of humanitarian work aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable individuals and families in Montenegro for many years. Our assistance and support includes the purchase of basic and life necessities, the distribution of clothing, footwear and toys, assistance in improving housing conditions, as well as various types of support that contribute to improving the health of our beneficiaries. A special focus is on children, because they are the ones who struggle the hardest with the consequences of poverty," said Ana Radonjić from the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation.

They remind that, according to a 2024 Monstat survey, every fifth citizen of Montenegro lives at risk of poverty, while more than a third of children live in households that do not have the conditions for a dignified life. These data, they add, clearly indicate the seriousness of the problem and the need for joint action.

"Last year, thanks to the generosity of citizens, socially responsible companies and our gold donor AmCham Montenegro, we managed to distribute over 5.300 New Year's packages to children in need throughout Montenegro. This year, the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation, with the support of citizens and socially responsible companies, aims to prepare and distribute 5.000 New Year's packages to children throughout Montenegro. In the coming days, we are launching a campaign to collect funds and goods (New Year's packages) that will last until December 15. We hope that, as in previous years, we will manage to make as many children happy as possible and that we will brighten up their New Year's holidays, which for many children often go unnoticed due to the inability to celebrate them in any way," added Radonjić.

She invited all citizens who are able and socially responsible companies to join the action — by donating packages or providing financial support via the link. https://www.volontericrnegore.me/paketici or by payment to a bank account 520-9194-41.

"Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, makes the holidays filled with warmth, care and smiles, because together we can do much more," she concluded.
