The Secretary General of the Red Cross of Montenegro, Jelena Dubak, presented awards to Nađa Stanojević and Aleksa Vukmirović, volunteers of the Red Cross Cetinje with the most volunteer hours, the Red Cross Cetinje announced today.
The awards were presented on December 5th, International Volunteer Day.
The statement from the Red Cross Cetinje states that the International Volunteer Day brought together volunteers and representatives of the Red Cross from various parts of Montenegro, as well as friends and guests from the region, at the Red Cross Cetinje.
"The day dedicated to the contribution of volunteers and the importance of volunteerism for the community was an opportunity to thank everyone who selflessly gives their time and effort to others, but also to recognize the volunteers who have been the most active in the past year. The Secretary General of the Red Cross of Montenegro, Jelena Dubak, presented awards for the volunteer of the Red Cross Cetinje with the most volunteer hours to Nađa Stanojević and Aleksa Vukmirović, while a special award for the volunteer who participated in the voluntary blood donation campaign for the first time went to Bogdan Stanić," the statement said.
The Cetinje Red Cross said that Dubak reminded of the immeasurable importance of every volunteer hour and thanked the volunteers for working every day for the benefit of others.
"Recognitions for long-term successful international cooperation were presented to organizations from the region - the Red Cross of Darda and the Red Cross of Stari Grad Belgrade by the Secretary of the Red Cross of Cetinje, Božidar P. Drecun," the statement reads.
"Volunteer Day is an opportunity to thank you for seeking and finding good in yourself and others, for choosing humanity as a way of life and for knowing that helping others is the noblest feeling," said Drecun in his address to the volunteers.
A letter of appreciation to the Cetinje Red Cross, on behalf of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, was presented by Dejana Dizdar, Acting Secretary of the Secretariat for Education, Sports and Youth, who expressed her gratitude to the volunteers for everything they do and her support for every future activity.
"To end the evening, the Red Cross Cetinje prepared a special surprise for volunteers and friends of the organization - a concert by the phenomenal Bruno Rački, who, with his band 'Valovi', ensured that we celebrated Volunteer Day in a great atmosphere, as well as a more than successful year behind us," said the Red Cross Cetinje.
