The construction of the bus station in Igalo is progressing at a satisfactory pace. Construction work on the main building and annex is nearing completion, the platform is being paved, some equipment has been ordered, and construction of the access road and new substation will begin soon, reports the RTHN portal.

The local administration is satisfied with the pace of work, the Mayor of the Municipality, Stevan Katić, told RTHN, emphasizing that the construction of the bus station facility is nearing completion.

"The arrangement and paving of the platform, or the access to the bus station, is now underway. The final works on the main building and the annex of the bus station are nearing completion. Also, the procurement of equipment is already underway. Some of the equipment has been ordered, according to the information I receive from the contractor and the supervision," he says.

Katić said that construction of the access road to the bus station from the main road and laying of the electricity supply cable will begin soon.

"So we will have one narrowing of the main road at a time until that access road is completed. It is expected that the laying of the cable will begin in the coming days, that is, the construction of a new transformer station for the needs of that bus station complex," said Katić.

The project to power the new bus station, as explained by President Katić, is a significant investment.

"A ring-shaped cable laying should be done, partly from Tito's Villa to the bus station and partly from the bus station to the 'Gomila' transformer station, near the Voli market. This will require significant work in the coming period and all of this is planned to be completed by spring 2026, or so that, according to this plan that we have, and what the contractor assures us, everything could be finished, so that the bus station would be ready to receive the first guests by June or July," said Katić.

The implementation of this capital project, worth 4,7 million euros, was entrusted to the company Entekst from Podgorica, which was also selected in the tender for equipping the facility, worth 2,87 million.

The new bus station will feature numerous facilities, a larger number of platforms will be in operation, and new bus lines from the region to Herceg Novi will be introduced.
