In the "Bratsvo - Jedinstvo" Elementary School in Kovačevići, which belongs to the most remote Pljevlja Local Community of Bukovica, the adaptation of the complete central heating system has been completed, which permanently solves the problem of efficient and reliable heating in this school.
The total value of the works is around 160.000 euros, and the funds were provided from the current budget of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.
"The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation is continuously working to improve the quality of educational infrastructure so that all students throughout Montenegro have adequate conditions for education," the Ministry said in a statement.
The school was completely renovated and adapted last year thanks to a donation from the United States Department of Defense through a humanitarian aid program, providing children in this part of Montenegro with modern educational conditions.
In the "Bratstvo i Jedinstvo" elementary school in the village of Kovačevići, 14 students are attending classes this school year, one student less than last year. This year, not a single child is enrolled in the first grade.
When it comes to the number of students, the situation in that school today is somewhat more favorable compared to 2016, when there were three students in the parent school, and one student thirteen years ago.
The school in Kovačevići is the only school in Pljevlja that has a boarding school, where students whose homes are far from the school stay.
