The units of the Institute for Emergency Medical Care (ZHMP) now have a video laryngoscope, which is used to examine and manipulate the larynx and vocal cords and enables successful intubation, the health institution announced.
The ZHMP explained that the camera and screen on the video laryngoscope provide a magnified image of the larynx and vocal cords in real time, which allows healthcare professionals to better view anatomical landmarks and clearly spot potential obstructions.
“Using a video laryngoscope increases the first-pass success rate, reduces the need for multiple attempts, and minimizes patient discomfort and trauma,” the statement said.
It is stated that a video laryngoscope is recommended for patients with limited neck mobility, spinal injuries, or other physical limitations.
"By providing a video laryngoscope from its own funds, the ZHMP continues to introduce the highest and most modern standards of emergency medicine," the Institute said.
As they stated, the acquisition of new modern equipment has significantly facilitated resuscitation in out-of-hospital conditions, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful resuscitation and saving patients' lives.
